Alvin (Ted) Young, 93, of Pasadena, Texas, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
He was born in Trickham, Texas to Robert and Velma Young on April 29, 1932. He worked for Gulf oil for 33 years starting in 1951 as a Roustabout and working up to Production Supervisor. He began his career in McCamey and then moved to Fort Stockton where he retired in 1985 and lived for 44 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lovvorn after 57 years of marriage; his son, Daniel Young; his parents, and his siblings.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Vicky Pherigo and her husband Wayne; four grandchildren, Kristi, Kim, Daniel, and Mandy; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He loved fishing, camping, hunting, and especially cherished the time he spent with his family. Ted also enjoyed playing golf, even achieving the memorable accomplishment of a hole-in-one.
He was also a square dance caller for the Circle 8 Club in Fort Stockton for 20 years. Ted loved singing and having fun.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 27, 2026, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas with Reverend Mike Schupp officiating.
