Billy Clyde Baker, 72, passed away on December 30, 2025. He was born on January 24, 1953, and lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty to family, and simple joys that brought him peace.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Willie D. Baker Jr. and Janis L. Davis, his son, Ronnie Baker, his sister, Mary Kennedy, and several other loved ones who have gone before him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Baker, his children, Tye Heard, Donald Baker, and James Baker. His grandchildren, and his siblings, Linda McClutcheon, Sandra Taylor, Artie Baker, and Lori Baker. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, Pete and Linda Sandoval, his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Rosemary and John Cavazos, Veronica and Ben Carrillo, and Pete Sandoval, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Billy’s working life reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He began his first job at the Crane Food Store, which later led him into the oilfield industry, where he spent the majority of his career. He eventually went on to work at Dixie Electric, where he remained until his retirement.
Outside of work, Billy found happiness in the things he loved most. He was a devoted OU football fan and never missed a game. His favorite pastimes included working on his Sudoku puzzles or playing poker with Pete, moments that brought him joy and relaxation.
Billy will be remembered for his presence, his love for his family, and the quiet routines that made him who he was. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
