Bruce Edward "Eddie" Grady

Bruce Edward "Eddie" Grady, 60, passed away on June 6, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.

Born in Pecos, Texas, Eddie was the son of Lorene "Reni" Palmer of Wink, Texas, and Bruce Grady of McCamey, Texas. A member of the Hawkins High School Class of 1984, Eddie spent much of his career working in the oilfield before transitioning into sales, where his outgoing personality and gift for conversation served him well.

Eddie was baptized at First Baptist Church in Hawkins, Texas, in 1979. He was an avid football fan, enjoyed golf, and was a devoted supporter of the University of Texas Longhorns. Few things brought him more enjoyment than talking sports, sharing stories, and spending time with family and friends.

Known for his bold spirit, fearless approach to life, and unforgettable personality, Eddie had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He was a gifted storyteller, a natural jokester, and someone whose presence could fill a room. Friends and family often found themselves laughing at one of his countless sayings, including one of his favorite offhand remarks: "If ya don't like it, then don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya."

Perhaps the defining moment of Eddie's life came at the age of sixteen when he learned he would become a father. While others questioned whether he was ready, Eddie never wavered. In that moment, he chose family first and devoted himself to being a husband and father, setting aside the dreams of youth to happily embrace the obligations of adulthood. Those who knew him best recognized that decision as one of the clearest reflections of his true character.

Eddie is survived by his parents, Lorene "Reni" Palmer and Bruce Grady; his five children, Cody Grady, Crysta Grady, Cale Grady, Casey Grady, and Collin Grady; his six grandchildren, Tatum Grady, Will Grady, Wyatt Grady, Tyson Fritz, Khloe Munn, and Caden Grady; his siblings, Garland Keith Grady, Kristi Louise Grady-Walker and Bradley Rex Grady; the mother of his children, Amber Grady; and his longtime companion, Adela Herrera and her children Kathleen and Kevin.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Casey Joe Foster; his sister, Ashleigh Shea Foster; his stepfather, Jim Foster; and his stepmother, Debbie Louise Grady.

A memorial service celebrating Eddie's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey, Texas. Pallbearers include Cody Grady, Cale Grady, Tyson Fritz, Caden Grady, Garland Keith Grady, Bradley Rex Grady, and Kevin Herrera.

He will be remembered for his voice, his smile, his stories, his laughter, and the way he could make a stranger feel like an old friend. His family and friends will especially miss the conversations, the companionship, and his confident Texas Longhorns pre-game predictions that were delivered as if the outcome had already been decided.

Though time waits for nobody, the memories Eddie leaves behind will remain with all who knew and loved him.
