Cody Vance Greer, 58, of Crane, Texas, passed away on September 26th 2025. Born on November 10th, 1966, in Houston, Texas. Cody was a devoted husband to Connie and a loving father to Aaron, Erik, Sandy, Sean, and Jessica.
Dad was hard working and dedicated. He spent 15 years working on tow boats, 12 years as a tow boat captain, then the last years working in the oilfield as a hot shot truck driver. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. Dad liked being the center of attention and he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity and full of stubbornness, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Dad’s hobbies helped define who he was, he enjoyed spending time with his sons, working on his trucks, and building things for his daughter, he enjoyed listening to rock n roll music and a glass or 2 of whiskey, but his love for God was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade. His favorite verse was John 3:16 For God so Loved the World that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever believed in him should not parish but have ever lasting life.
He is survived by his wife Connie Greer of Crane, TX; Children Aaron Hale and wife Tambra of Crane, TX, Erik Hale and wife Julie of Crane, TX, Sandy Duke and husband Bob of Utopia, TX, Sean Hargrove and wife Priscilla of Crane, TX, and Jessica Wilson and husband Chevelle of Crane, TX; Grandchildren, Erin, Taylor, Kayti, Adilyn, Kassidy, Madilyn, Senesha, Colby, Garrett, Kaden, Max, Eli, Keyan, Luke, Korbin, and Karson; and 8 great grandchildren.
Dad is also survived by his sister Shannon Greer of Galveston, TX; Nephew Vance Greer; and His Aunt Michelle and many friends he called family.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
