Obituary

Enrique “Rick” Flores III passed away on May 18, 2026, and went to be with our Heavenly Father.

Rick was born on May 10, 1986, to Enrique Jr. and Melissa Flores in Crane, Texas. He spent his life in Crane and graduated from Crane High School before proudly enlisting in the United States Army. Rick served four years in the military, including 16 months of combat service in Iraq. He served as a Specialist E-4 Tank Mechanic and carried great pride in serving his country.

Rick was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Frostie, and his cherished children: Jaxon, Zayvian, Brylea, Skarlett, Phoenix, and Penelope.

Rick loved being a father more than anything. He cherished all of his children deeply, and as his oldest, Jaxon held a special place in his heart. He proudly told everyone when Jackson was accepted into the police academy. Rick found great joy in watching Zayvian follow in his footsteps through football and powerlifting, passions that brought them even closer together. Brylea had her dad wrapped around her little finger, while Scarlett kept Rick on his toes with her constantly checking his location and reminding him to charge his phone. Phoenix was beginning to pick up on some of Rick’s funny habits, like only wearing one sock, and Penelope contributed to the gray hairs Rick jokingly blamed on his kids.

He is also survived by his parents, Enrique Jr. and Melissa Flores; his grandfather, Henry Flores; his brother, Michael Flores and wife Valerie; his nephews, Mateo and Maximus; and his nieces, Mylah and Marlee Flores.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Vicenta Hernandez and Amelia Flores. Rick will be deeply missed by countless family members, tias, tios, primas, primos, and many lifelong friends and Army brothers. Serving as pallbearers will be those who loved Rick dearly: Aaron Martin, Abel Huertas, JJ Esquivel, Isaac Falcon, Daniel Garza, Robert Garcia, Tristan Pineda, and Jose Esparza.

Rick’s strength, humor, loyalty, and love for his family will never be forgotten. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 9am to 9pm at the Nichols Funeral Home in Crane.  Rosary will be said on Monday, at 7pm.  Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26th at 2pm at the Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Crane County Cemetery.
