Janet Ruth Lindsey, lovingly known as “Nonnie” by her favorite people, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2025. Janet was born on September 27, 1950, to the late Robert and Cora Rebecca McGuire.
Janet graduated from Seagoville High School in 1969, and from there her journey of life began. She spent many years traveling to her favorite destinations, from Portugal to Hawaii. Janet pursued many ventures, from working behind the cosmetology chair to entrepreneurship. In 1996, she took on her favorite role as “Nonnie.” Many knew Nonnie for her beautiful jewelry, makeup, and coordinated outfits, but her favorite accessory was her kitchen. From holidays to birthdays, you could always find her making her famous pecan pie and banana pudding.
She is survived by her best friend, Tom Lindsey of Rankin; her daughter, Angie Jackson, and her husband, Pete Jackson, of Rankin; her son, Robert Watson, and his wife, Jennifer Watson, of Iraan; and her daughter, Ryanne Barecky, and her husband, Kevin Barecky, of San Antonio. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Nonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cora McGuire; “The Old Man” and “Granny” (DeWayne and Janey Lindsey); and her brother-in-law, Bill Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made to West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo, TX, or West Texas Rehab in San Angelo, TX, both of which hold special meaning to Nonnie's family.
