John Dee Daniell, 89, of Crane, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in Crane.

John was born on September 19, 1932, in Abilene, Texas to Nathaniel and Anna Mae Daniell.

John and Bobbie moved to Crane in 1969. John worked as the Supervisor at the Perry Gas Plant for 4 yrs. He owned Big John’s Roustabout and also Big John’s Wrecker Service. John was a County Commissioner for 4 yrs . He helped put in a new city swimming pool and a new nursing home.

John was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle, fishing trips and then coming home and cooking them up! He loved to dance and he enjoyed a cold beer! Big John never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face!

John was the last of 12 children. John married Bobbie Ann Wilson in 1954. They were married for 65 yrs. John and Bobbie have 5 children:

Kay Daniell, Rickey Daniell, wife Paula Daniell, Cindi Blake Metcalf, husband Wayne Metcalf, John Dee Daniell (Johnny), Wayne Daniell, wife Janalynn Daniell.

Grandchildren: Brandi Mathis, wife Aliza Boyer, Bucky Mathis, Mark Blake, fiancée Lori Alsup, Mendy Blake Gaillardet, Lindsay Colvin, Leslie Price, husband Bradley Price, Taylor Daniell, Jordan Daniell Clack, husband Jeff Clack, Samantha Velasco, husband Omar Velasco.

Great Grandchildren: Kolby Blake, Kamri Blake, Addyson Gaillardet, Malcolm Colvin, Alyvia Colvin, Rylee Rinehart, Rikki Rinehart, McKenzi Daniell, Raelynn Medrano, Jentri Clack, Nico Velasco, and Noa Mathis Boyer.

The family will be receiving friends at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 4pm until 6pm.  Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Crane County Cemetery.
