Joyce Faye Parker Penn, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 19, 2025 from her home in Granbury, TX, surrounded by her three children.
Graveside services will be held at Crane County Cemetery, Crane, TX at 11:00 AM Thursday May 22, 2025. Arrangements by Nichols Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chris Parker, Kyle Parker, Jason Pettit, Cory Pettit, Todd Vanderveer, Jarad Smith and Josh Smith.
She was born on May 25, 1937 at her Aunt Alice and Uncle Bill’s home in O’Donnell, TX to L.D. and Faye Parker. They moved to Crane, TX in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth Penn, 2003. Her parents L.D. Parker, 1952 and Faye Parker Fanning, 2003, her brother Lynn Dwayne Parker, 1984 and grandson Justin Ash, 2023.
She is survived by her 3 children, Kay Beth Ash-LaFortune, Tony Dan Ash and Tobi Lyn Ash. Her twin sisters Donna Vanderveer and husband Larry, Vonna Johnson and husband Dee. Three granddaughters Ashley Faye, Lindsay Johnson and Breanna Ash. Two great granddaughters Vivian Faye Trumpower, Lyra Michael “Mikey” Trumpower and six nephews.
Besides being a loving mother, daughter and sister. She was a talented artist and cosmetologist owning FaLeon Beauty Shop for several years. Which in later years became My Friend’s Grill. She and Kenneth pursued a venture in the ostrich business for approximately 8 years starting in 1988. She loved studying God’s Word! She would say, “I could just woller in it”. One of her favorite scriptures was Jude 24:25.
