Deacon Julio Lujan Carrasco, 84, of Crane, Texas, was born December 20, 1940, in Ft. Stockton, Texas. Julio went to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 8, 2025, while he was surrounded by his family that loved him.
Julio had many names he answered to: Dad, PoPo and Grandpa – Juliooo. Julio worked all his life for his family. God was his first choice. He touched many people with his word and the love of God. He was so proud of his Big Family and loved them with all his heart.
Deacon Julio was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Anita Carrasco on May 7, 2024. Also preceding him was his parents: Jose and Juanita Carrasco, his sons, Julio “Bear” Carrasco and Michael Anthony Carrasco, granddaughter, Jennifer Haley Tavarez and great-granddaughter, Hayden Hope Rangel.
Julio is survived by his two daughters: Elsie Campos and husband Kino and Mary Romeiser and husband Tim, all from Crane, sister, Arcelia Carrasco of Round Rock, TX. Julio also had 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 1 pm with a Rosary at 7 PM that night at Nichols Funeral Home. Mass will be held on Wednesday at Good Shepard Catholic Church at 11 am. Bishop Michael Sis will officiate services. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
