Manuel C. Aguilar, age 93, of McCamey, Texas, entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2025, surrounded by love.
Manuel was born in McCamey, Texas, to Nemesio and Cecilia Corrales Aguilar and was raised in the community he proudly called home throughout his life. A man of faith, family, and service, he lived his life guided by strong values, humility, and love for others. On July 30, 1955, he married Gloria Carrillo Aguilar, beginning a devoted marriage blessed by God and rooted in love, faith, and family.
Manuel dedicated many years to the grocery business, beginning his career at T & Y Grocery. He later worked in produce at Matejowsky’s Grocery Store, where he also served as Assistant Manager, and retired from Village Market Grocery as the Produce Manager. He was well known for his honesty, strong work ethic, and friendly smile, and he took great pride in serving his customers with kindness and respect.
In addition to his professional career, Manuel was deeply committed to serving others. He proudly served as Mayor of McCamey during the 1970s, always striving to lead with integrity and a heart for his community.
Manuel found great joy in the outdoors, especially when he was fishing and camping with his family. Some of the most cherished memories were made on the water and around campfires. He eagerly looked forward to the annual boys’ fishing trips with his sons, son-in-law, and grandsons. During their childhood, Manuel and Gloria lovingly took their children—seven boys and one girl—camping and fishing every summer, building traditions filled with laughter, faith, and togetherness. Manuel even loved inviting cousins along, believing family was meant to be shared and memories were meant to be made together. They traveled to many rivers and lakes across Texas, and those trips became the foundation of lifelong bonds. Even after their children were grown, Manuel and Gloria continued their camping and fishing adventures, grateful for God’s blessings and the life they shared.
Manuel was preceded in death by his father, Nemesio Aguilar Sr.; his mother, Cecilia Corrales Aguilar; his brothers, Juan Aguilar, Ramon Aguilar, and Louis Aguilar; his sisters, Esiquia Villegas, Anne Sanches and Rosa “Chucha,” Aguilar; his son, Ben Aguilar; and his grandson, Dominic Aguilar.
He is survived by his children: Rudy Aguilar and wife Rosa of McCamey, Texas; Bobby Aguilar of San Francisco, California; Joel Aguilar and wife Ann of Decatur, Texas; David Aguilar of Fort Worth, Texas; Anthony Aguilar and wife Cecilia of Odessa, Texas; and Debra Carrasco and husband Nayo of Odessa, Texas.
He is also survived by his brothers: Nemesio Aguilar Jr. and wife Consuelo of McCamey, Texas; Mauro Aguilar and wife Alice, Frank Aguilar and wife Angie, and Joe Aguilar of Odessa, Texas; and his sisters: Katy Gomez and Margarita Rey of McCamey, Texas; Mary Subia, Gloria Villeneuve, and Susie Flores of Odessa, Texas; and Carmen Aguilar Ortega and husband Luie of Pecos, Texas.
Manuel is also lovingly survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a tremendous blessing in his life.

Funeral Service:
Manuel’s family takes comfort in knowing that he has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and that he is now rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
We, the Aguilar family, would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the McCamey Nursing Home staff and the Hospice Medical Team. We are truly blessed and eternally grateful for the exceptional care, compassion, and dedication you showed our dad.
During his time at the nursing home, our dad was surrounded by familiar faces—both residents and staff—who made him feel loved, comfortable, and at home. Because of the strong sense of family that resonates throughout the facility, we always knew our dad was well cared for.
On behalf of the Aguilar family, we thank you for the care, love, laughter, and attention you gave him. Your kindness brought our family great comfort and will never be forgotten.
