Margaret Little

April 3, 1938 — March 7, 2015

Margaret Little, of Fairfield, TX went home to Glory on March 7, 2015. She was 76.

Born Margaret Ann Earle on April 3, 1938, to Oochie and Alyce (Beauford) Earle in Odessa, TX, she grew up in Odessa, Seminole, and Andrews. Margaret graduated from Andrews High School where she loved all kinds of sports-a love she shared with her dad.

Margaret graduated from West Texas State University and began teaching. After losing her sight, she had a new career with the Texas Commission for the Blind. Margaret helped other blind Texans adapt to their disability. Upon meeting Margaret, most people had to be reminded that she couldn’t see. Even though she was good with her stick, her family still wouldn’t let her drive.

Margaret retired and lived with her daughter, Becky, and her family. She spent her retirement listening to her radio to any ballgame-Spurs, Rangers, Cowboys, Longhorns, Aggies, Red Raiders, Baylor, or listening to Bible teaching, and working around the house.

Most who met Margaret were inspired by the way she adapted to blindness. Those who knew her found a person who was defined by her salvation and faith. Margaret was unwavering in her faith, knew a Bible principle to apply to any life situation and would gladly walk you through it.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings-Sonny Earle, Janie Butler, and Dickie Earle.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Becky and husband Michael Adcock, and granddaughters Taylor Adcock and Lauran Adcock of Fairfield, TX, and her son, Wayne Little and wife Judith, of Flower Mound, TX. She has one surviving brother, Ronny, who lives in Spain.

Family visitation will be at Crane Cowboy Church, Crane, TX, from 1pm to 3pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Graveside services will be at the Crane County Cemetery on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 4pm with Kenneth Smarr officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
