Mauricio Pulido Esparza of Rankin, TX, passed away on July 29th of 2025.

Mauricio was born in Sauz De Arriba, Durango, Mexico on November 16th, 1938, to Jose Manuel Pulido and Eulalia Esparza. Mauricio came to Texas in his early twenties. He settled in Rankin, TX, where he married the love of his life, Natividad B. Abalos. He spent many years working the rugged land of Upton County as a ranch hand. He also worked for J B Rogers Construction in Crane Tx. In 1992, he retired from Western Oil and Gas in Rankin Tx after 25 years of service. After retiring from Western Oil and Gas, Mauricio went to work for Rankin ISD in the Maintenance department. Mauricio retired from Rankin ISD in 2004 after 12 years of service. After leaving Rankin ISD, he went back to working as a ranch hand for Mrs. Bloxom until he retired in 2014. Mauricio enjoyed visiting family in Mexico and spending time with his wife and kids. Mauricio enjoyed watching the Red Devils play on Fridays from his pickup truck. He also never missed a Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday. His greatest trait was his love for his family and helping others however he could. He was a hard-working provider for his family and his enduring work ethic never went unnoticed. He was a devoted catholic to St. Thomas Catholic church of Rankin. He was well loved in the town of Rankin.

He is survived by his siblings Francisca Sifuentes, Gloria Gallegos and Jose Manuel Pulido Esparza, his Daughter Sonia Renee Pulido and husband Jose Velasquez, his son Jose Manuel Pulido and his husband Bill Poindexter. His Goddaughter Maryann Harris and her husband Steven Harris and their daughter Margaret Jane Harris; his grandchildren Henry Pulido, Micaela Renee Hanson and her husband Noah Hanson, Felix Munoz Jr and his partner Morgan Hanson, and Petra Paulina Munoz; and his great grandchildren Miyah, Jeremiah, and Isaiah Pulido and Ryley Mae Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Manuel Pulido and Eulalia Esparza, his brothers Santos, Agustin, Isidro and Vicente Pulido; his wife Natividad B. Abalos; and his son Selso Pulido.

A Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 8th, from 9am to 6pm at the Upton County Park Building in Rankin followed by a rosary at 7pm. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, August 9th, at 10am at the Upton County Park Building in Rankin followed by a burial at the Rankin Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Henry Pulido, Felix Munoz Jr, Xavier Abalos, Selso Abalos Jr, Tony Flores and Steven Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Alberto Pulido, Isaiah Pulido, Jeremiah Pulido and all of Mauricio's nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nichols Funeral Home in Crane, TX.
