Nadine Andrew

November 29, 1923 — March 25, 2013

Nadine Andrew died peacefully and passed to her eternal life Monday March 25, 2013 at her home. A wonderful lady with a never ending smile, she is loved and will be missed by her family, her "sisters" and staff at 220 Harper, her local community of faith- the 21st Century Class at Kerrville First United Methodist- and the entire community of McCamey, Texas.
Nadine was born November 29, 1923 in Burkburnett, Texas, graduated from Electra High School then attended a local business school. Nadine married Jack D. Andrew on December 27, 1942 and they celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to his death in 2004. They had two sons, Jack, Jr. and Glenn.
After Jack completed his military service in the Army Air Corps, they settled in McCamey, Texas and lived there for over 60 years, both becoming community leaders. Subsequent to Jack's death, Nadine lived in McCamey until 2009 when she moved to Kerrville, Texas to be closer to her sons.
Nadine was the office manager for a local propane and Phillips 66 distributer for over 30 years. She was a member of the McCamey First United Methodist Church for exactly 68 years having joined on March 25, 1945. She was dedicated to her Christian faith and was a constant student of the Bible. She devoted herself to living out the Words she so well understood. In the later portions of their lives, Jack and Nadine, traveled throughout the southwest in their RV making friends whether they settled for a night or a month.
For those of us who were blessed to have known her - Mom, Grams, Grandma, Aunt Nadine, Nadine or Mrs. Andrew- we will always remember her for the room brightening smile that seldom left her face and how she loved family. With the exception of her deep Christian faith, nothing exceeded her devotion to family. A quick wit and sense of humor often left us surprised and laughing at her subtle and sharp lines. She led her family by her love, dedication, constant encouragements and as a role model. She gave her entire life to raising her family, including many extended family members. She taught us the value of constant unearned love, never ending faith in others, uncompromising principles and hard work. She could rebuke us when needed but never failed to flash that incredible smile which said, "I love you and you are valued!" When her life here was difficult in the last few weeks, she still managed to share that smile when visited by family or friends.
A full life so well lived, we are all so much better for having loved and been loved by Nadine!
Nadine was survived by son Jack, Jr. of Kerrville and son Glenn and wife Leta of Kerrville. She had 4 grand children, Dawn Fay, Leland Andrew and wife Tara, Rev. Clay Andrew and wife Jen and Ambra Starr and husband Brett; eight great grand children Heath Andrew, Trey Andrew and wife Consuela, Patrick Chavez, Chris Chavez and wife Annette, Caeden, Forrest and River Andrew, and Kinley Starr; and 5 great, great grandchildren Ava Andrew, Shawn and Chrystyna Chavez, Rhyleigh Andrew and Zachary McBride.
