Neomi Lynn Montemayor, 51, of Crane, Texas, entered into the arms of her loving Savior on September 22, 2025. She was born on July 27, 1974, and spent her entire life as a proud resident of Crane, where she built a life filled with love, family, and service to others. On that day, Neomi was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Horacio Montemayor.
For nearly 30 years, Neomi devoted her career to caring for others as a Radiologic Technician, most recently serving patients at a First Physicians Urgent Care in Odessa, where she found a second family with her wonderful coworkers. Her work reflected her heart—compassionate, dedicated, and always seeking to make others feel cared for and valued.
Neomi’s life was deeply marked by both love and loss. Six years ago, she tragically lost the love of her life, her husband Horacio Montemayor, and yet, even though grief, she found strength in her family and in the companionship of her beloved puppies, Zoey and Sophie. She poured out her love wholeheartedly to her nieces and nephews Ariel, Alyssa, Nikki, Nadia, Sophia, Adriana, Samantha, Kristen and her nephews Isaac, Ricky and Joseph, serving as their fiercest supporter and greatest cheerleader. Her presence was a constant reminder of unconditional love and encouragement.
Neomi was preceded in death by her mother, Aurora (Borie) Garcia; her grandparents, Ismael and Juliana Heredia; her uncle Ricky Heredia, her cousin Joseph Casas and mother-in-law Elsa Montemayor.
She is survived by her father Oscar Garcia, sister Angela (Shane) Thompson, her brothers Anthony Garcia and Michael (Nicole) Garcia; and her extended family including her uncles Johnny Heredia of Arizona and his children; father in law Horacio Montemayor, Ismael & Bertha Heredia of Andrews and their children; Wally (Molly) Heredia of Odessa; and her aunt Martha Heredia of San Angelo and her children. In addition, she is survived by many wonderful friends, including her beloved “Golden Girls”.
Visitation will be Monday, September 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM at the Nichols Funeral Home, Crane, Texas. The Reverend Shane L. Thompson will be presiding over the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the pet charity of your choice.
