Ronald Jeffery Sr.

Ronald Jeffery Sr. was born on August 23, 1957, in Crane, Texas to Richard and Charlie Mae Jeffery. He was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He accepted Christ at an early age. Ronald played basketball, ran track, and was an outstanding running back. Upon graduating from Crane High School in 1976, he received a football scholarship to UTEP.

Ronald worked as an apartment maintenance supervisor and worked in the oil fields until he suffered a debilitating back Injury. He was known around West Texas for his original culinary invention, "smoked meatloaf." Ronald loved traveling, exploring new places, and playing bingo, but more than that, he loved his children and family. He was passionate about letting people know about Christ. He served as an associate minister under Bishop Darrell Sutton at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crane, Texas. In church, Ronald deeply connected with the "Who Am I" responsive readings, and he was adamant about the church members showing up on time for church.

In remembering Ronald Jeffery's life and legacy, we honor the chapters he shared with those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Jaque Jeffery of Odessa, Texas, his children Ronald "Paco" Jeffery, Jr. (Cheryl) of Michigan, Phillip Joseph Donald Jeffery (Jessica) of Kansas, Kowa Jones of Odessa, Yonald Jeffery of Odessa, and Te'area Padilla (Xavion) of Odessa.
