Rosa Aguilar

Rosa C. Aguilar, affectionately known as “Chucha,” age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the McCamey Nursing Home.

Rosa was born on July 2, 1945, in Odessa, Texas, and raised in McCamey, Texas. Though her roots began in McCamey, her home remained in Odessa, where she built a life filled with family, friendships, and hard work.

Throughout her life, Rosa worked in a variety of roles, always showing dedication and resilience. She was employed at Odessa K-Mart, later served as a bus driver for Ector County ISD, and worked at Stripes Convenience Store before finally retiring. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her strong work ethic, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Nemesio Aguilar Sr.; her mother, Cecilia Corrales Aguilar; brothers, Juan Aguilar, Ramon Aguilar, and Louis Aguilar; and sisters, Esiquia Villegas and Anne Sanches.

She is survived by her brothers, Manuel Aguilar, Nemesio Jr. and wife Consuelo Aguilar of McCamey, TX; Mauro and wife Alice Aguilar, Frank and wife Angie Aguilar, and Joe Aguilar of Odessa, TX; sisters, Katy Gomez and Margarita Rey of McCamey, TX; Mary Subia, Gloria Villeneuve, and Susie Flores of Odessa, TX; and Carmen and husband Luie Ortega of Pecos, TX. She is also lovingly remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey, TX, with Father Kumar Jujjuvarapu officiating. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 AM and funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Nichols Funeral Home.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her beloved nephews: Rudy, Bobby, Joel, David, and Anthony Aguilar; Peter, Mike, and Adam Gomez; Tony Aguilar; Peter and Johnny Subia; Matthew, Joseph, Jacob, Frankie, and George Ortega; Adan Rey; Billy, Jimmy, and Ryne Aguilar; Eric and Jason Sanches; and Michael Villeneuve.

Rosa “Chucha” Aguilar leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
