76 Years Old
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Elaine “Susie” Pendleton, a woman who lived her life rooted in the words of her Savior. Her presence could light up a room, and her enthusiasm for life was truly unmatched. Susie left this world on August 24, 2025, surrounded by love, memories, and the echoes of countless stories. She is now at peace in the arms of her Savior.
Born in Sanderson, TX, on September 25, 1948, to the late Kelly (KK) and Louise Robinson, Susie lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering support for those she held dear.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Barry Pendleton, and their two children: Sharon Nagao (Richie) of Haslet, TX, and Lance Pendleton (Jill) of Newark, TX. Her legacy lives on through her three adored grandchildren – Taylor Nagao of Midland, TX, Savanna Pendleton of Lubbock, TX, and Colby Pendleton of Newark, TX – who were the pride and joy of her life.
Susie is also survived by her sisters, Jannie McDonald of Sanderson, TX, and Fay Vargas of Clarendon, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Lou Robinson and Paulette Hutchinson. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will deeply miss her.
Susie grew up in Sanderson, TX, the town she always called home. She devoted 33 years of her life to the Terrell County EMS, serving as both an EMT and EMS Director. She also dedicated 13 years to the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office as a 911 operator and jailer. Her lifelong commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on her community.
Though she may no longer be physically present, her spirit will live on in the laughter, the stories, and the love she so freely gave.
A Celebration of Susie’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sanderson High School Auditorium, with graveside services to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Sanderson, TX.
