Vanetta Hyche

Vanetta “Meemaw” Hyche, 74, a lifelong resident of Crane, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, September 20, surrounded by love and family. She was born September 12, 1952, to Thurston “Rip” Eggleston and Alma Jo Eggleston.

Vanetta married the love of her life, Charley Hyche, on February 4, 1972. Together, they made their home in Crane, where they built a beautiful life and raised their family. Charley preceded her in death in 2013.

Vanetta was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was incredibly proud of each and every one of them. If you knew Vanetta, you probably heard her talking about her family—whether you asked to hear about them or not. ❤️ Her family was her greatest joy, and she never missed an opportunity to tell you how proud she was of them.

Vanetta is survived by her son, Eric Hyche, and wife, Kristin, daughter, Kelli Tredaway, and husband, Cody; and her grandchildren, Dylan Tredaway and his fiancée, Mikaili; John Thomas Hyche and his wife, Skylar, Averi Drake and her husband, Wesley, Amy Rawls and her husband, Remington; and Sydney Hyche; as well as her great-granddaughter, Allie Grace Drake, who made her arrival just hours before her 74th birthday. She is also survived by her sister, Lauri Henderson, and a niece, Kira Steadman.
